Tween Art Club Saturdays

  • Ages: 9-12 years old
  • Dates: Saturdays, May 19, June 16, July 21, August 18, September 15, October 20, November 17, & December 15
  • Times: 1-3 pm
  • Instructor: Michelle Wilson
  • Description: Spend time experimenting with art while you socialize with your peers! A different art technique and approach each month! Take charge of your destiny- make art!
  • Cost: $10 per class; registration is required in advance, but you can pay when you arrive each club date.

Adventures in Outer Space

  • Ages: Adult with Child for Ages 4-6
  • Dates: June 25-29, 2018
  • Times: 10 am – 12 noon
  • Instructor: TBD
  • Description: Make Art With Me!  Use many forms of materials and techniques to create outer-space themed artworks. Explore what you envision of life on other planets and in far galaxies. Whether in flight or on a far moon’s landscape, your Imagination will guide the way!
  • Cost: $70 members per child; $80 non-members per child. Adult free.

Art Science: STEM into STEAM

  • Ages: 7-9 years old
  • Dates: June 25-29, 2018
  • Times:10 am-12 noon

  • Description: Investigate how art and science go together! Explore the many ways that art and math are connected. Invent your own art materials. Let curiosity be your guide. Create awesome artworks that will amaze yourself and impress your friends.
  • Cost: $70 members; $80 non-members

Prints and Poetry

  • Ages: 10-13 years old
  • Dates: June 25-29, 2018
  • Times: 10 am- 12 noon
  • Instructor: Michael Mize
  • Description:  Ready for creative and experimental forms of art making?  Create easy and magical prints using paint and a tray of gelatin (like Jell-O). You’ve got to do it to believe it. Combine your prints with poetry and narrative to unite the beauty of art and words.
  • Cost: $70 members; $80 non-members. Adults must be present. Attending adults get in free.

The Artful Garden

  • Ages: 7-9 years old
  • Dates: June 25-29, 2018
  • Times: 1-3 pm
  • Instructor: Kris Oursler
  • Description: Nature is art. Discover the ways in which nature can be used to create living masterpieces. You will create garden designs, plant safe seeds for butterfly flowers, make bird feeders, and so much more. Be part of your earth.

Suitcase Self-Portraits

  • Ages: 10-13 years old
  • Dates: June 25-29, 2018
  • Times: 1-3 pm
  • Instructor: Chastity Romero-Latham
  • Description:Create an assemblage sculpture using a suitcase and meaningful objects. You will paint, sculpt, draw, collage, and more as you express your unique identity and experiences through art!

Acrylic Painting for Adults

  • Ages: 13-up
  • Dates: June 25-29, 2018
  • Times: 1-3 pm

  • Description: Go Ahead! Question what you know! Question what you see! You will explore a variety of artworks in which artists reinterpreted their world. You will create acrylic paintings using your own ideas!

Jumanji! Monkeys in the Kitchen!

  • Ages: Adults with a child for ages 4-6
  • Dates: June 16-20, 2018

  • Description: Make Art With Me!  Travel on an imaginary journey and create animals you “meet” along the way. A playful and imaginative way to learn about animals, environments, and ART!

Hand-Built Ceramics

  • Ages: 7-9 years old
  • Dates: June 16-20, 2018
  • Times: 10 am-12 noon
  • Instructor: Sydney Goldman
  • Description: Create sculptures and ceramic works using slab, pinch, coil and other techniques. Your works will be fired to the bisque stage in our kiln and ready for alternative surface treatments. We will call you when they are ready to pick up!

Manga and More

  • Ages: 10-13 years old
  • Dates: June 16-20, 2018
  • Times: 10 am- 12 noon
  • Instructor: Tom Anderson and Deanna Toenjes
  • Description: Superheroes use special powers to fight evil forces. They inspire people to be brave and good and honest and true. You will develop and design superheroes and manga illustrations from your own imagination using drawing, painting, and sculpture.
  • Cost: $70 members; $80 non-members

little things to BIG ART

  • Ages: 7-9 years old
  • Dates: June 16-20, 2018
  • Times: 1-3 pm
  • Instructor: Eileen
  • Description: Challenge your expectation of the size of objects. Scale is what it’s all about! Turn small things into giant representations! How about a huge paperclip, an enormous pair of scissors, a gigantic penny? You will explore the possibilities that relationships of size provide!

Next Step: Ceramics and Intro to Wheel

  • Ages: 10-13
  • Dates: June 16-20, 2018
  • Times: 1-3 pm
  • Instructor: Sydney Goldman
  • Description: Join us for traditional ceramic classes using hand-built techniques and introduction to wheel throwing to create vessels. You will glaze 1 or 2 works, and the rest will be fired to bisque stage, ready for alternative surface treatments. We will call you when they are ready to pick up!

Fiber Arts: Journals and Weaving

  • Ages: 13-up
  • Dates: June 16-20, 2018
  • Times: 1-3 pm
  • Instructor: Theresa Sheltor-Logan
  • Description: Create your personal journal using a variety of bookmaking techniques and back strap weaving; experiment with specialty fibers, papers, drawing styles, and painting methods. Your unique journal may be a memory, a diary, or a way to convey your thoughts, dreams, and possibilities. It is about you.

Touches of Clay, Ceramics

  • Ages: 13-up
  • Dates: Saturdays, June 16, 23, 30, July 7, 28, 2018. No class July 14 or 21

  • Description: You will create art using traditional ceramic techniques including wheel thrown processes. For beginning, intermediate, and advanced artists. Learn and create at your own pace!

Dancing Lines

  • Description: Make Art With Me! Move, draw, paint, and dance with lines and music as you create artworks that are inspired by Rita Blitt’s paintings in the newest Mulvane gallery!

Painted Hands, Family Portrait

  • Description: Make Art With Me! Create a hand-print masterpiece on canvas. Suitable for Framing! A treasure forever. (Acrylic paint is permanent, dress for a mess).
